FAQ
1. Do I need to sign up for classes based on my ability/level?
Sessions are designed to be welcoming for our first time friends while challenging to our friends seeking a deeper sense of practice. The balance barre located in the studio offers a unique opportunity to everyone looking to boost stability, flexibility and to feel supported.
2. What do I wear, and what do I bring?
Arrive in comfy clothes. There is no specific dress code. You are welcome to bring your own mat/towel. The studio provides mats, towels, props and filtered water. The floor is terrazzo, which can be very slippery. Grippy socks are recommended if you choose to practice off the mat.
3. I have a pre-existing condition. Is yoga safe for me?
Definitely talk with your medical provider first. At your comfort level, please talk with Sarah or Melissa to discuss how we can best serve you. Because yoga is more than touching your toes, there are an abundance of options in every session. If yoga isn't necessary going to serve you best, we want to chat about options like wellness coaching, breathwork, IV Infusion or red light therapy can be beneficial to your wellness goals.
4. Is wellness coaching considered therapy ?
While wellness coaching is ally to therapy, a wellness coach IS NOT a therapist, nor can a coach diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Wellness coaching is forward-focused, helping you set and achieve specific goals in areas like nutrition, stress management and life balance.
5. How many yoga/coaching sessions do I need to see benefits?
Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes. We are bio-individual and come from unique starting places; therefore, I recommend at least 6-15 sessions before you identify that real change is occurring. As a coach, I meet you where you are and provide consistent feedback to aid in your progression.
6. Is yoga/coaching covered by insurance ?
Our services are not covered by insurance. That being said, prevention is key in reducing your need for insurance-covered procedures. Many of our clients have joined us for yoga or wellness coaching after their physical therapy or mental health services have reached their insurance max. WE DO NOT REPLACE insurance-covered options. We act as an ally to your health providers.
What qualifications do your instructors and coaches have?
Are instructors are certified with experience teaching diverse levels and CPR trained. Coaches are certified through recognized programs with expertise in holistic health. We each have additional specialties as an area of focus.
